SEO Audit

A free SEO audit for your small business, in plain English

We read up to 10 pages of your site, check what your customers search for and who shows up instead. Your score shows here in a minute or two, and the full written report comes by email. A person follows up afterward. $150, free right now.

For a business that already has a website. Buying a plan, or already on one? The free audit is open to you too.

What you get

What the report covers

One report, in plain English, in this order. It is written for you to read, not for a web developer, and it prints cleanly if you want it on paper.

  1. The short version

A score out of 100 and a few sentences up front: where you stand today, and what would make the biggest difference.

  2. What is keeping you from being found

Each problem we find, worst first, with what we saw and why it matters to the people searching for you.

  3. Your content, your listings, your platform

Every finding is sorted by what causes it: the words and pages on your site, how your business shows up on Google Maps and in directories, or the platform the site runs on. The first two can be fixed anywhere. The third cannot.

  4. What your customers search for

The searches your site shows up for, how many people make each one a month, and where you rank.

  5. Who shows up instead

The sites that show up most often for the same searches.

  6. What to do next

One suggestion, from what the report found. If your site is in good shape, it says so.

An example

What one looked like

Expert Construction and Remodel, a remodeling contractor in Arlington, Texas, with a new website that was technically sound. It still did not show up when people searched for the work. Three of the findings:

  1. A seasonal service page never used the word customers search for

The page described the work one way. People search for it another way, and that word did not appear on the page once.

  2. Towns the business serves were never named online

Not on the website, not on the Business Profile. When Google picks who to show for a local search, the places a business names count.

  3. Several kinds of work shared one page, so none of them could rank

People search for each of those jobs on its own. A page that tries to answer all of them is rarely the best answer to any.

The plan put the seasonal page first, because its busy season was weeks away. We have left out its numbers.

Before we start

What we need from you

  • Your website address
  • An email address to send the report to
  • A phone number, only if you want a text when the report is ready

No logins and no access to anything. The audit reads what your site shows the public.

After the report

What happens next is up to you

The recommendations are yours. Do them yourself, hand them to the person who looks after your site, or take them to anyone you like. You do not have to hire us.

Sometimes the problem is the platform the site runs on. When it is, the report says so plainly, and we will quote taking the site over or rebuilding it. We do not sell a package that patches a site where it sits.

Our promise. Any finding in this report that goes into a build with us does not add to the cost of the build.

Questions

Questions about the SEO Audit

Why is it free?

$150 is what the audit costs. Right now we are giving it away, because it is the quickest way to show you what we would fix and why. There is nothing to pay and no card to give.

Is this the same as a free online SEO checker?

It is automated, like a checker, but it does more than give your site a score. It reads up to 10 of your pages, looks at what your customers search for and who shows up instead, and sorts what it finds by cause: your content, your listings, or the platform your site runs on. Then a person from our team follows up.

How long does it take?

A few minutes. Your score and the findings worth fixing first show on the page as soon as they are ready. The full report comes by email, and that email is the only way to open it, so use an address you can check.

Do I have to hire you afterward?

No. The report and its recommendations are yours to use with anyone: yourself, the person who looks after your site now, or another company. If the problem is the platform your site runs on, the report says so, and we can quote taking it over or rebuilding it. Whether you take us up on that is up to you.

What if my site is on Wix or WordPress?

We audit it either way. Many fixes, like the words on your pages and your Business Profile, work on any platform. If something in the way is caused by the platform itself, the report says so plainly. We do not sell a package that patches a site where it sits; we quote taking it over or rebuilding it.

What do you need access to?

Nothing. The audit reads the pages your site shows the public. No logins, no passwords, no access to your Google accounts.

What do you do with my email and phone number?

We send your report to your email either way. We only email you tips and offers, or text you, if you tick those boxes, and you can stop either at any time. We keep the report for 180 days.
