Tags

A tags UI, built into your site with no plugin and no library. A wrapping list of small labels in three modes: static chips, links, or removable chips whose real “Remove <tag>” buttons dispatch a data-removed event with the value and can be remembered for the tab. An optional max shows “+N more”. Without JavaScript every chip shows and the removal buttons stay hidden.

Remove a filter: the host hears data-removed with its value.

Show the topics, features or filters that belong to something, and let visitors clear a filter with one tap.

What it replaces

  • WordPress post tags and tag-cloud widgets
  • page-builder “badge” and “label” modules
  • WooCommerce active-filter chips

Good for

A few short labels that belong to something: the topics of a post, the features of a product, the filters a visitor has applied to a list. Removable chips when the visitor can take one off and the page should follow.

Not for

Navigation (a menu is a menu), a choice the visitor is making (that is a set of checkboxes or a radio-group in a form), or a single badge on a card or photo (that is sticker). And not a tag cloud of fifty words: past a dozen, use `max` or a list page.

Accessibility

Written so the page works for every visitor, whether they browse with a mouse, a keyboard or a screen reader, and whether or not they have asked for less motion.

  • A real <ul> with role="list" (VoiceOver drops list semantics on list-style: none without it), named by `label`. Links are links; static chips are text.
  • Each removable chip has a real <button> named “Remove <tag>”. After a removal, focus moves to the next chip’s button (or the previous one, or the list when none are left) and a polite status line says “Removed <tag>”.
  • On a touch screen (pointer: coarse) each removal button and “+N more” is a 44 by 44 px target; the chip keeps its height, so rows do not spread apart.
  • “+N more” is a button with aria-expanded and aria-controls naming the list; after it, focus stays on it, now reading “Show fewer”.
  • No motion. Colors clear 4.5:1 with their fallbacks; `npm run check` computes them.
  • Without JavaScript every tag shows and the removal and “+N more” buttons stay hidden rather than doing nothing. With it, a collapsed list and remembered removals are settled by the script right after the list, before the first paint, so nothing jumps.

How to ask for it

“The tags on our home page, with …”

Name it, say which page and which part of the page it goes on, and say what goes in it: your photos, your words, your colors. That is a complete request. We build it, you approve it, and it goes live. If you know it by another name, from WordPress or from another site, that works too.

More elements you can ask for: Before / After, Particle field, Mega menu, Video background, Parallax band, Scroll reveal, Business hours, News ticker, Flip box, Instagram feed, Accordion / FAQ, Card slider, Tabs, Info list, Video player, Testimonial carousel, Icon library, Animated text, Cookie consent, Animated background, Modal box, Announcement bar, Image hotspots, Info circle, Slide box, Countdown, Content toggle, Off-canvas panel, Video gallery, Map and directions, Link effects, Tabcordion, Tooltip, Responsive table, Notice, Toast, Loading, Menu button, Radio group, Stepper, Scrollbox, Sticker. Or see all of them working.

See them all working
  • Cookie consent

A consent bar that is yours: no monthly CMP fee, nothing loads from Google until the visitor has said yes where the law needs a yes.

  • Link effects

Links that answer back when you point at them, and never leave a keyboard user or a slow eye behind.

  • Menu button

Tuck a handful of actions — share, export, edit, delete — behind one tidy button that works the same with a mouse, a keyboard or a screen reader.

  • Radio group

Let people pick one option at a glance — as a list, as big cards with an icon, or as a pill switch — and it still posts like the plain form it is.
